Annette Fletcher | Owner & Director

Annette is a mover, mother, and lover of all things Pilates, dance, and the human body. After graduating with a BFA in Dance from New World School of the Arts in Miami and studying Pilates with Elaine Wright, she embarked on her Pilates career in NYC. She began Pilates House in 2005. She is certified in all apparatus through Pilates Institute of America under the tutelage of Frankie Puglisi. After opening Pilates House, Annette taught certifications in Mat and Apparatus for PIA, specializing in assisting Physical Therapists on how to utilize the Pilates work into their healing practices.

Annette is also certified by Yamuna Zake in Foot Fitness® which assists in restoring healthy foot function and Tom Meyer’s Anatomy Trains® for movement and fitness professionals. Her teaching is driven by the desire to find space, discover movement possibilities and trigger the natural high and awakening that comes from breathing and movement combined.

She believes that harnessing one’s own power of sustainability and care for the body will long outlive the fast-paced technological world.

Hila Paldi

Hila Paldi has been involved with Pilates exercises since 1983. She came to this work as a client first but decided to make it her vocation. In 1988 she was certified by the original Pilates Studio as a Pilates instructor and worked at the Pilates Studio under the supervision of Romana Kryzanowska.

Throughout her career, Hila has continued to explore the work of Joseph Pilates, which exposed her to the teachings of some of Pilates' other disciples: Kathy Grant, Carola Trier, Ron Fletcher, Eve Gentry, and others. This has influenced the direction of her teaching, provided her with a broader view of Pilates' exercises, and inspires her work with many populations. Hila continues to study the work of Joseph Pilates and his disciples and applies it to the contemporary New Yorker.
